Targeting the needs of fixed and mobile broadband, FlexPacket ATCA-PP80 provides network equipment providers with the highest performance packet processing and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) capabilities to support advanced “content-aware” routing, policy enforcement and security functions required by next generation multi-service IP networks. Delivering per-blade line rates up to 40Gbps, and based on NetLogic’s new XLP832, PP80 dual NetLogic XLP packet processing blade enables networks to deliver higher quality of service, increased revenue and optimized network efficiency to improve CapEx and OpEx metrics.
The PP80 dual NetLogic XLP packet processing blade enables next generation wireless and wireline infrastructure solutions including LTE (MME, Serving Gateway, PDN Gateway), enhanced 3G networks (GGSN, SGSN, Internet Offload) and stand-alone service and policy control devices that scale up to 200Gbps. The PP80 dual NetLogic XLP packet processing blade also incorporates DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) capabilities to extract information on individual traffic flows. With this information operators can deliver service-aware solutions that adapt on a per-service and per-subscriber basis. With this level of control, systems can deliver maximize performance, efficiency and premium service levels.
The PP80 dual NetLogic XLP packet processing blade interconnects two XLP832 packet processors, I/O and backplane fabrics using a non-blocking 40GbE switch. Each CPU is provided with four 10Gbps ports to the switch providing full duplex 20Gbps capabilities. External I/O is supported over a dual redundant 40GbE backplane fabric (with fallback to 10GbE) as well as external I/O compatible with 1GbE, 10GbE and 40GbE interfaces.
Coupled with Continuous Computing’s ATCA systems and Trillium protocol software, the PP80 dual NetLogic XLP packet processing blade provides the fastest path from application development to deployment revenue. Application software available includes user/session based load balancing, Trillium control and bearer plane protocols (including fast path optimizations), network and routing software and security accelerators including IPsec and Snow3G support.
